Angara Damana: Dissolve Into Nothingness [77%}
The intro is long and foreboding, which then breaks away to the mentally unstable assault. With synth and mournful guitar this album brings an atmosphere that requires an effort from the listener. However the journey is well paved with monolithic riffs of depression, and slow passages of dark despair that will bring forth the after taste of nightmares. Classic style riffs accompany the trails in fleeting gusts that leave you cold and vulnerable.
Being from Iran I was expecting more folk or traditional eastern music styling’s, but Angara Damana find themselves in a dark void filled with synthetic darkness, vocals that make you question your own mental security, and the occasional guitar solo. Altogether this album brings all of this together to show something unique.
This album is as ambitious as it is long. For people looking for easy rhythmic atmospheric metal this isn’t for you, but if you like old school bm riffs mixed with ambient synth and enjoy spending time and attention on an album this is an album to get.
